Halloween!!
Some of my favorite songs and books for Halloween-themed music therapy sessions:
The Addams Family (Want to try something new? Use rhythm sticks in lieu of snapping!)
Shake Dem Halloween Bones (I always sing this book while playing a blues progression on my guitar and provide shakers for the client)
The Monster Mash (Have the client create their own monster with music instruments, colors, etc.)
Purple People Eater (Add actions and movements to the song for an extra challenge)
Werewolves of London: (I use the Kidzbop version and a microphone to “howl” at the given time in the song. Great as a vocal warm-up!)
