/ Children  / Song for Valentine’s Day – “Teeny Tiny Valentine”

As the next holiday approaches, I wanted to share one of my go-to songs for Valentine’s Day.

With this song, I can address the concept of volume of voice (quiet, talking, yelling), as well as increasing the awareness of different sizes (I cut small, medium, and large hearts out of felt as visuals).  Additionally, I like to add movements to each verse.  For example, teeny tiny voice = squat down on the floor, medium-sized = stand up, great big = stretch out arms and legs.

“Teeny Tiny Valentine”

(Tune: She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain)

I’m a teeny tiny valentine for you (repeat twice in soft voice)

I’ll be yours, will you be mine?

I’m a teeny tiny valentine for you.

I’m a medium-sized valentine for you (repeat twice in normal voice)

I’m not too big and that’s just fine.

I’m a medium-sized valentine for you.

I’m a great big valentine for you (repeat twice in loud voice)

And I will love you all the time.

I’m a great big valentine for you.
